Cat person AND plant person? 🌿🐱 It's a lovely combo, but a few very common houseplants don't mix well with curious nibblers.

⚠️ Lilies are the big one. Even pollen licked off fur or a sip of vase water can cause sudden kidney failure in cats.
⚠️ Dieffenbachia, pothos and monstera: chewing the leaves causes mouth pain, drooling and vomiting.
⚠️ Aloe vera and snake plant: can bring on vomiting and diarrhea.

Friendlier options: cat grass, spider plant, parlor palm, Boston fern 🌱

If you think your cat has eaten something toxic, don't wait for symptoms โ€“ head to the vet right away and bring a photo or a piece of the plant.

Is your cat a leaf-chewer? Which plants have you managed to keep alongside your feline roommate? 👇
