Ever notice your cat snoozing basically all day? 😺 Adult cats sleep 12-16 hours daily on average, and kittens or senior cats can sleep even more! It's a natural instinct leftover from their wild ancestors, saving energy for sudden bursts of "hunting" - even if the prey nowadays is just a yarn ball or your foot under the blanket 🧶. That said, if your cat's sleeping way more than usual and skipping meals or play, it's worth a vet visit. A warm sunny spot and a soft bed go a long way toward happy naps.
