Did you know pavement can heat up to 120–140°F (50–60°C) on a sunny day, hot enough to burn your dog's paw pads? 🐾 Here's a quick test: press the back of your hand on the ground for 5 seconds. If it's too hot for you, it's too hot for them!

Try walking early in the morning or after sunset, stick to grass or shady routes, and always bring water. After each walk, wipe those paws and check between the toes for thorns, grit or little cuts. If your pup keeps licking their feet or starts limping, a quick vet visit is worth it.
