We all assume a wagging tail means a happy dog, but your pup's tail is basically an emotional mood ring! 🐶

A big, loose wag with the whole butt wiggling means pure joy, usually when you walk through the door. A tail held high and stiff with a fast little vibrate means your dog is alert or confidently sizing something up. A tail tucked low against the belly means your pup is nervous or scared and needs reassurance. Research even suggests a wag leaning right tends to be positive, while a left lean signals unease.

Always read the ears, eyes and whole body posture together to get the full picture.
