Just brought a budgie home and it panics every time your hand enters the cage? Don't take it personally. Birds need time before they decide you're safe 🐦💛

A gentle routine to try:
1. For the first few days, just sit near the cage and talk softly so your bird learns your voice.
2. Rest your hand inside the cage for a few minutes a day. No chasing.
3. Hold a sprig of millet and let your bird come to you.
4. Once it's relaxed, press a finger lightly against the lower chest. Most budgies step up by reflex.

Keep sessions to 5–10 minutes and stop at the first sign of fear. Never grab your bird!

How long did it take your bird to step up? Any tricks that worked for you? 👇
