😼🪑 Frayed sofa arms and scratched-up chair legs — sound familiar? Scratching is completely natural for cats: it keeps their claws healthy, stretches their muscles and marks their territory. So please don't scold your kitty for it!

The trick is offering a better option. Pick a scratching post that's tall and sturdy, and place it right next to the furniture they target or near where they wake up. Rub a little catnip on it, and every time they use it, praise them and hand over a treat 🐟

Trimming their nails every 2–3 weeks will also save your furniture a lot of grief ✂️
