🐱💛 Ever caught your cat gazing at you and then slowly, lazily closing and reopening their eyes? They're not just dozing off. Cat people call it a “cat kiss.”

In cat language, a hard unblinking stare is a challenge. Closing your eyes in front of someone is the opposite – it says “I feel safe around you.” Behaviour studies have even found that cats are more likely to slow-blink back when their humans do it first.

👉 Try it tonight: sit a little way from your cat, relax your face, narrow your eyes, close them for a second or two, then open them gently. Don't stare, and don't reach out to pet right away.

If your cat blinks back, calmly looks away, or strolls over – congratulations, you've just had a conversation in fluent cat 😻. It's also a lovely way to break the ice with a shy or nervous kitty.

Does your cat slow-blink at you? Give it a go and report back – we'd love to hear how it went! 👇
