🐱🍞 Has your cat ever climbed onto your lap and started pushing their front paws in and out like a tiny baker kneading dough? It's one of the sweetest things cats do!
Kneading goes all the way back to kittenhood, when kittens press on their mom's belly to help the milk flow. Many cats keep the habit for life and do it when they feel safe, relaxed and content. Cats also have scent glands in their paws, so making biscuits is a gentle way of saying: this blanket, and this human, belong to me. 😼
If those claws are a bit sharp, there's no need to scold or push your cat away. A thick blanket on your lap and regular nail trims usually solve it. If your cat kneads while sucking or chewing on fabric a lot, keep an eye on it and mention it to your vet.
Where's your cat's favorite biscuit-making spot: a fluffy blanket, a pillow, or your stomach? Do they purr while they do it? 💕
