Community tanks are a joy, but pick the wrong mix and you'll have fish chasing and nipping all day. 🐟

Some ground rules for beginners: start with calm, schooling species like neon tetras, harlequin rasboras and cherry barbs, and keep at least 6-8 of each so they feel secure. Avoid pairing fish with big size gaps, since larger fish tend to treat smaller ones as snacks. Male bettas are best kept alone or with very carefully chosen tankmates. Above all, don't add fish before the tank has finished cycling, and don't overstock for your volume.

What species are you keeping together right now? Any pairing you thought would work that turned into a turf war? 🐾
