🐠💧 A lot of new fishkeepers think a full 100% water change is the cleanest option โ€” but it's actually one of the fastest ways to stress your fish!

For most home aquariums, changing about 20โ€“30% of the water once a week is the sweet spot. Always treat new tap water with a dechlorinator and try to match the tank's temperature. While you're at it, use a gravel vacuum to pull out waste and leftover food from the bottom 🧽

One more tip: never rinse your filter sponge under the tap โ€” chlorine kills the good bacteria. Just squeeze it gently in the old tank water you've siphoned out.
